Apply for the ACF City Grant

We designed the Actionable Consensus Framework (ACF) to be as simple and intuitive as possible. However, we know that getting started sometimes requires a push in the right direction—especially when your goal is to use the method to lubricate the gears of a slow internal bureaucracy.

That is why we are now offering the ACF City Grant.

This is not a traditional financial grant. Instead of sending funds, the Actionable Consensus Foundation invests expertise directly into your organisation. Through this grant, your city will receive 36 hours of on-site support and training: the ACF Action sprint.

What your city gets:

  • Intensive "Train-the-Trainer": Our founder and executive director will train your key personnel on-site, empowering them to independently lead and scale the ACF method across your organisation.

  • Hands-on Support: Practical guidance for adapting the framework to overcome your specific bureaucratic challenges.

  • A Direct Investment: The market value of this dedicated time and executive training is approximately 8500 EUR. The Actionable Consensus Foundation covers this entire cost.

What it costs you:

The only thing the receiving city pays for is the actual travel and accommodation costs for our team during the ACF Action sprint. The training and time are completely free of charge for the cities awarded the grant.

Who can apply?

This grant is exclusively available to cities and municipalities (outside of Sweden). It is the perfect fit for local governments that have a clear ambition to use ACF to create faster, better, and more anchored decisions, but need expert help to train their internal process leaders.

How to apply:

Our application process is as simple as our framework. Send an email to hello@actionableconsensus.org and briefly answer the following three questions:

  1. What is the single biggest challenge in your city's decision-making processes right now?

  2. How do you plan to use ACF to solve this?

  3. Which key personnel will participate in the on-site ACF Action Sprint if you are selected?

What happens after you apply?

As part of our evaluation process, every applicant will be invited to a one-on-one video meeting with our founder and executive director. During this call, you will receive tailored advice on how to navigate your specific situation and use ACF to move from ambition to action.

This means that even if your city is not awarded the full grant this time, you will still get expert help to kickstart your journey and walk away with a clear understanding of how to organise and implement the framework.

We look forward to helping your city turn words into action.

The ACF Action Sprint

Over the course of the 36-hour on-site action sprint, our founder executive director will guide your team through an intensive, hands-on program built around three core activities:

1. The Mechanics of ACF: Science and Theory. We start by unpacking the "why" behind the framework. We will dive into the behavioural science and consensus-building theory that makes ACF work. Your team will learn why traditional bureaucratic processes often stall, and exactly how our method bypasses those bottlenecks to accelerate decision-making.

2. Best Practices and Local Adaptation: No two cities are exactly alike. In this session, we share proven best practices and map out your city's specific organisational structure. Together, we tailor the ACF implementation to fit seamlessly into your existing processes, identifying exactly which "gears" in your internal bureaucracy need lubricating.

3. The Dry Run: Hands-On Facilitation Theory is only useful when put into practice. The core of the "Train-the-Trainer" experience is a live simulation. Your key personnel will take the lead in facilitating a mock ACF session—ideally using a real, current challenge your city is facing. Our founder and executive director will provide real-time coaching and feedback, ensuring your team is confident and fully equipped to run the ACF sessions independently as soon as the visit is over.
